How to install your Oxygenics® showerhead |
Replacing your current water and power wasting showerhead with a
patented Oxygenics® model will be the easiest and most effective
way of reducing both your utility bills and demand on precious
resources. You will very soon pay for the showerhead through
the savings you make, in some cases in less than 1 month.
|
Is it difficult to replace your current showerhead? No, it really is very easy.
|
What you will need
|

|
- An Oxygenics® showerhead, chosen from the wide variety of styles and finishes
- An adjustable spanner
- Teflon thread-sealing tape – included with your Oxygenics® showerhead
- Electrician’s insulation tape
|
Carefully remove your old showerhead using the spanner
or a pipe wrench. Clean the shower arm thread carefully,
removing lime scale with a cloth soaked in vinegar left
wrapped in place around the thread for a few hours.
Wrap 3-4 turns of Teflon tape in an anti-clockwise
direction around the thread of the shower arm. Use of
this tape will prevent leaks between the shower arm and
the showerhead and will mean rubber washers may not be
required.
Screw your new Oxygenics® showerhead onto the shower
arm and hand tighten only, ensuring that it is correctly
threaded. Our showerheads will fit a standard SABS
approved shower arm. Using electricians tape or cloth,
tighten the showerhead firmly with the adjustable wrench,
taking care not to mark the chrome finish.
Turn on the taps and check for leaks, between shower
arm and showerhead. If there are leaks, then either tighten
further, or remove and apply more Teflon tape.
You have now successfully taken a major step towards saving
water and power in your home, and the benefits in reduced bills
will be noticeable within a month or two. You will also be helping
to conserve our resources and environment. |
